Just to follow-up on what Charlie said below...
My apologies for failing to provide an update to this list sooner after the
San Diego HL7 meetings.
Fyi, the attached is an HL7 project scope statement that was developed
within the ITS Special Interest Group meeting in San Diego and approved
(later that week) by the INM Committee. As Charlie says, this approval
means that the project is now an official HL7 one, and it makes sense to use
the HL7 ITS list server (as this is one of the major projects of that group)
and its regular conference calls for discussion.
The HL7 ITS list may be joined via http://www.hl7.org/listservice/index.cfm.
(It may be listed under its former name, XML SIG.)
The HL7 ITS SIG has regular conference calls each Wednesday. To
accommmodate international participation, the calls alternate weekly between
12-1pm and 4-5pm GMT. It's anticipated that the 12-1pm calls will focus on
ITS and Data Types, to best accommodate Australian participation. The next
12-1pm call is this coming Wednesday, 31st January.
Charlie has also set up an HL7 wiki site for this project, at
http://informatics.mayo.edu/wiki/index.php/New_ITS_project (ID wiki,
password wikiwiki).
Also fyi, this project is registered to provide draft specifications for
comment within the next HL7 ballot cycle (submission in March for review in
April).
Best regards,
Laura

Suggest that you join the ITS SIG list (still called xml at lists.hl7.org), as
the New ITS work is now an active project within HL7.org, being hosted by
the ITS SIG -- so that list is where the discussion should be happening now
All the best
Charlie
